Game 2 of the Western Conference Final between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers is set for Friday, May 23, at 8:00 PM ET at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN+, Sportsnet, CBC, and TVAS.
In Game 1 on Wednesday, the Stars staged a remarkable comeback to defeat the Oilers 6–3. Trailing 3–1 after two periods, Dallas erupted with five unanswered goals in the third, including three power-play goals within a 5:26 span. Tyler Seguin led the charge with two goals and an assist, while Miro Heiskanen, Mikael Granlund, and Matt Duchene also contributed key goals. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 24 saves to secure the victory.
Despite strong performances from Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl (one goal, two assists), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (one goal, one assist), and Connor McDavid (two assists), the Oilers were unable to maintain their lead. Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch emphasized the need to recover quickly for Game 2.
This series marks a rematch of the 2024 Western Conference Final, where Edmonton emerged victorious in six games. Dallas now leads the series 1–0.

Dallas took Game 1 with a 6–3 win, outscoring Edmonton 5–0 in the third period alone. Tyler Seguin led the scoring with two goals and an assist, while Heiskanen, Granlund, Duchene, and Johnston each added a goal to complete the comeback. The Stars now hold a 1–0 lead in the series.

Jake Oettinger made 24 saves on 27 shots in Game 1, shutting the door completely in the third period. Stuart Skinner allowed six goals on 31 shots, struggling to contain Dallas during their late surge.

Dallas will come into Game 2 with momentum after a wild third-period comeback in the series opener. After trailing, the Stars exploded for five unanswered goals, showing they can strike quickly when given space.
Edmonton also had stretches of dominance in Game 1 and still managed three goals. The Oilers will be desperate to respond and bag a win before this series becomes unmanageable. However, we don't think they will topple the Stars in Dallas and while it will be a close game, the Stars will ultimately end up winning and going 2-0 on the series.
